Amazing blend produced solely by hillside grapes from La Lajuela micro valley, Colchagua... a height experience.

Casa Verdi LA LAJUELA is an exceptional and elegant blend, a blend that our oenological team has developed more than 10 years ago in the Colchagua valley, specifically in the La Lajuela micro valleY, which gives the wine its name and where all its varieties come from. The particular blend of Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon is cultivated on hillsides, rigorously hand-harvested and vinified for 16 months in French and American oak barrels. It has a deep ruby color with intense red reflections. The nose is intense with ripe black fruits, strawberries, jam, dried figs, eucalyptus, cocoa and coffee. On the palate it is broad and creamy, with good balance, with a long and structured finish on notes of black berries.

The Colchagua Valley

The Colchagua valley has evolved in the last twenty years, from a quiet extension of agricultural land to being one of the most active and prestigious winemaking regions in the country. The relatively low elevation of the coastal hills allows the breezes from the Pacific Ocean to interact with the Winds coming from the Andes Mountains, thus cooling the valley, and extending the ripening process in the region which benefits the conservation of the acidity in the grapes, which resolves in red wines of excellent coloration, great freshness, and good ageing capacity. The vast majority of the wines produced in Colchagua are reds, with a particular penchant to produce Carménère, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, and Syrah.
